ERIC Conference  1st December 2010

We are pleased to announce the 2010 ERIC Conference will be held on 1st December 2010 at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham. The Conference will introduce the Nocturnal Enuresis and Idiopathic Constipation in Children NICE Guidelines and will feature an exciting selection of keynote speakers and workshops.

In the next ERIC e-Newsletter, we will provide details on how to register for the conference. Please put the date in your diary as we look forward to welcoming you on the 1st December 2010.

 Training Update

2010 looks like it’s going to be a busy year for ERIC training! We’ve got a selection of dates, courses and locations across the UK so there’s something to suit everyone.

Our training helps you keep up-to-date with the latest research and developments relating to childhood continence.  All seminars qualify for CPD accreditation and comply with the Skills for Health Nursing Competencies Framework.

Here is what’s coming up in 2010:

Childhood Daytime Wetting and Soiling

Presenting up-to-date facts on bowel and bladder disorders, this seminar provides strategies for managing these conditions in the community.

10th February – Hulme Hall, Manchester

16th June – University of Nottingham

8th September – St Martin’s Priory, Canterbury

 

Toilet Training, Including Children with Special Needs

This course explores the acquisition of bowel and bladder control with particular attention given to children with learning difficulties. Guidelines on introducing care pathways and individual toilet training programmes are provided including strategies for tackling challenging cases.

11th March – Solihull Education Centre, Birmingham

Nocturnal Enuresis ‘Three Systems Approach’ Fundamental Course

Introducing the ‘Three Systems’ as a means of understanding bedwetting with a focus on a child-orientated, evidence-based approach, this seminar explores ways of applying this model into clinical practice.

15th March – Cardiff City Hall

4th June – Solihull Education Centre, Birmingham

 

Nocturnal Enuresis ‘Three Systems Approach’ Advanced Course

This course takes the ‘Three Systems’ approach and explores how the theory can be applied to complex cases.  Effective ways of working with children, along with methods for overcoming issues such as poor motivation and relapse, are also examined.
